4TS ("we," "us," or "our") operates the 4TS mobile application and website located at https://4ts.app. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information collected through our services.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: Name, email address, date of birth, phone number, and password when you register.
- Profile Information: Photos, biography, gender, sexual orientation, relationship preferences (4TS or 4Keeps mode), and any other optional profile details you choose to share.
- Communications: Messages, signals, and other content you send or receive within the app.
- Payment Information: If you subscribe to a premium plan, payment details are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
- Support Requests: Information you provide when you contact our support team.
- Feedback and Surveys: Any information you voluntarily submit through surveys or feedback forms.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect precise or approximate location to show you nearby profiles. You can adjust location permissions in your device settings at any time.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and app version.
- Usage Data: Features you use, pages you view, matches and signals sent, session duration, and interaction patterns within the app.
- Log Data: IP address, access times, app crashes, and error logs.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use session identifiers and local storage to keep you logged in and to improve performance.
2.3 Information From Third Parties
- Social Sign-In: If you choose to log in via Apple ID or Google, we receive basic profile information (name, email) from those providers, subject to their privacy policies.
- Verification Services: If you use age or identity verification, we receive the outcome of that verification (pass/fail) but not the underlying identity documents.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service: Creating and managing your account, enabling matching, messaging, and profile discovery.
- Personalization: Showing you relevant profiles based on your preferences, location, and app mode (4TS or 4Keeps).
- Communications: Sending push notifications for matches, messages, and app activity (you can opt out in settings); sending transactional emails (account confirmations, receipts).
- Safety and Moderation: Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, harassment, and policy violations; investigating reports from users.
- Subscription Management: Processing payments, managing subscription status, and handling billing inquiries.
- Analytics and Improvement: Understanding how users interact with the app to fix bugs and improve features.
- Legal Compliance: Meeting our legal obligations, responding to lawful requests from authorities, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share your data only in the following circumstances:
4.1 With Other Users
Your public profile information (photos, bio, first name, age, general location, badges, and selected mode) is visible to other users in your area. Messages are shared only with the recipient. You control what you include in your profile.
4.2 With Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase: Our backend database and authentication infrastructure. Data is stored on Supabase servers subject to their security and privacy practices. See supabase.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscription tracking and entitlements. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Expo / Expo Push Notifications: Used to deliver push notifications to your device. See expo.dev/privacy.
- Apple / Google: App distribution, payments, and sign-in services, subject to their respective privacy policies.
- Analytics Providers: Aggregated, anonymized usage analytics to help us improve the app.
4.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent harm, protect safety, or enforce our agreements.
4.4 Business Transfers
If 4TS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:
- Active accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your account.
- Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your profile information, photos, and messages within 30 days, unless we are required to retain certain data to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
- Backup retention: Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days after deletion.
- Legal holds: Data subject to active investigations or legal proceedings may be retained longer as required by law.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time.
- Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.

7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS/HTTPS
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
- Regular security reviews and monitoring
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of any security concern, please contact us immediately at security@4ts.app.
8. Children's Privacy
4TS is strictly for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Age verification is required during registration. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete their data. If you believe a minor has created an account, please report it to safety@4ts.app immediately.
9. Location Information
We use location data to show you profiles of people nearby. You can grant or revoke location permission at any time through your device's settings. If you deny location access, certain features (such as distance-based discovery) will not function. We share only your general location (city-level) with other users — not your precise GPS coordinates.
10. Push Notifications
We send push notifications for matches, messages, and app activity. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app under Settings > Notifications. Disabling notifications does not affect your account.
11. International Data Transfers
4TS operates in the United States and may transfer your data to servers located in the US and other countries. By using our service, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers.
12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of their data, and to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your California privacy rights, contact us at privacy@4ts.app.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by in-app notification or email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of 4TS after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. The current version will always be available at 4ts.app/privacy.
